Open Space is an artist-run centre. But what is that? The space seems to be apart from the tourist industry of Victoria, “flying under the radar” as it were. This state of affairs makes the centre an obvious home-base for the anti-tourism-tour, but still, we have not addressed what the centre is or its potential, only what it is not. However, the anti-tour develops an idea of the artist-run centre as a point of contact for a mixture of cultural expressions, with the capacity to produce the new.
