Songhees Point is a site of great significance for the Lekwungen speaking people, now referred to as the Songhees and Esquimalt nations. The Anti-tour brings us to this sacred place to remember an event staged by the artist Jamelie Hassan. At Songhees point, with the “Tent City” coming down not far away, the artist shares tea and honey, respectfully honouring the generosity of spirit engendered by the indigenous worldview.
